Job Description :

Compounding Pharmacy Tech needed for a long term contract at National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD

Job Summary:

Performs compounding according to USP <795> and <800> regulations under the supervision of a pharmacist including but not limited to the following dosage forms:

  • Solutions

  • Suspensions

  • Creams

  • Ointments

  • Capsules

  • Powders

  • Suppositories

 Select, prepare and stock medications and supplies.


         Prepare dosage medications for dispensing into bottles and unit dose packaging.

·       Weigh ingredients correctly and process them following the provided formula worksheet specifications

·       Ensure correct formula preparation according to the prescription following quality assurance guidelines

·       Ensure compounds are prepared in accordance to formulation and that all relevant compounding guidelines and quality standards are maintained

        Accurately calibrates equipment used in compounding.

        Assists with recording and maintaining pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs.

        Ensures that all pharmacy surfaces, laminar flow hoods and clean room are cleaned per policy.

       Understands and can perform basic pharmaceutical calculations in order to obtain correct doses of medications.

       Assists with product purchasing, inventory and equipment management.

      Orders the correct drug products from the wholesale company if requested.



Required Qualifications :
Current PTCB Certification

Current Pharmacy Tech License from any state

Valid BLS Certification
