Job Description :
Radiologic Technologist - Schedule: A session is defined as one hour. The contractor will normally provide 1 individual, eight (1) hour sessions per day, 1 day per week, excluding Federal Holidays. Work hours will be at a time mutually agreed upon between the contractor and the Health Services Administrator (HSA) or their designees. These hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the institution. The contractor shall not normally exceed 8 hours per week.  


Scope of Services: The services performed by the Rad Tech shall include, but not limited to the following: • The technician shall be capable of performing all radiology procedures needed with minimal technical support. The current radiological equipment provided at the FCI is a GE Definium 5000 digital x-ray machine. • Knowledge of digital equipment is required. • Perform routine radiologic procedures ordered by the medical staff for the inmate population at the FCI and FDC. • Work with an inmate population from a variety of cultural, racial, religious and ethnic backgrounds. • Evaluate radiographic equipment for calibrations and repairs. • Possess knowledge of basic emergency situations which may occur during special radiographic procedures. • Schedule exams and maintain records. • Possess knowledge of various pathological abnormalities as demonstrated by radiographic imaging. • Independently assess and select technical exposure factors and positions necessary to obtain a proper quality diagnostic exam. Receive patients and explain procedures to alleviate undue anxiety Independently perform all radiographic procedures; i.e., chest, bone, skull, spines, and portable x-rays, etc. • Notify Radiologist, or referring Physician of any preliminary abnormalities seen while patient is undergoing an exam, so additional views, or exams can be ordered if needed. • Coordinate transfer of patient radiologic records to ensure continuity of care. • Work with Clinical Director to ensure monitoring and evaluation activities are completed. • Act as liaison between the radiologist and medical staff. • Receive training and orientation and comply with correctional techniques as they pertain to medical services. • Develop a working knowledge of FCI medical protocols. • Wear outer protective clothing and obey CDC universal precautions at all times. • Completing of all x-ray studies ordered by the medical staff and processing radiologic requests in the medical record program; • Preparing x-rays for transmission to the radiologist for interpretation; • Assisting the staff with maintenance of equipment and supplies, and notifying staff when supplies are needed; • Conducting quality assurance tests and daily maintenance on x-ray equipment as needed; • Assisting with FDA inspections and preparation for AAAHC and program review as needed; • Assuring all x-ray requests are completed properly; and • Computerization of patient logs and repeat analysis
Required Qualifications :
 Minimum Qualifications: The Contractor shall possess the necessary skills, abilities, and credentials to perform services of a Radiologic Technologist (occupational code 12305). All below listed information shall be provided prior to being accepted for work at FCI Englewood. The Radiologic Technologist assigned to FCI Englewood by the Contractor must possess the following qualifications: The technician shall be fully licensed to perform radiological procedures in one of the 50 United States. The contractor must provide evidentiary documentation of required certification. Required Documentation includes: • Verification of credentials • A Valid Driver’s License. • Proof of CPR certification.
