GLC Government Services is seeking a licensed Pharmacy Tech for a Government Contact.

Location: Glenville, Glenville, West Virginia

Setting: FCI Gilmer Correctional Facility

Contract: Ongoing

Schedule/Hours: Monday – Friday, between the hours of 6am-2pm (with a ½ hour unpaid lunch). Typically, 37.5 hours up to 40 per week based on client needs.

Requirements:

Clear and active Pharmacy Tech License.

Must have active computer and typing skills.

CPR Certified

Must have experience working in the medical field for at least three years or have a PCTB certificate.

Job Duties

The contractor will be responsible for reading and interpreting prescriptions and medication orders written by medical staff, selection, and retrieval of medications of correct strength and dosage from prescribed, transcribing prescription data to labels using typewriters or computer systems. Also preparing prescriptions for review by a BOP/Public Health Service (PHS) Pharmacist prior to dispensing and giving pertinent patient instructions when appropriate.

As the contractor you will be responsible for the running of all pill lines upon proper orientation by the Pharmacist.

The contractor will assist the Pharmacist in ensuring that only medications listed in the approved BOP Formulary are dispensed and will ensure that request for non-Formulary medications are initiated and submitted to the Pharmacist for approval.

Must be proficient in maintaining adequate inventories of all medications and medical supplies and preparing the proper paperwork for replenishment of inventory, as well as maintaining an expiration date log to ensure that no outdated or expired stock remains in the inventory. You will assist in updating patient education literature, assisting in improvement of performance studies and assist the Pharmacist in meeting policy guidelines for the inmates.

The contractor will prepare recommended supply lists to order pharmaceuticals, maintain the pharmacy areas in a clean and orderly fashion, maintain stock of appropriate forms utilized in the pharmacy department, and shall, in the absence of the Pharmacist, maintain the Pharmacy operation, within guidelines governing the duties of the Pharmacy/Medication Technician. Prescriptions must be reviewed by a pharmacist prior to dispensing to the inmate population. The Pharmacy/Medication Technician should be able to accurately input a minimum of 25 prescriptions per hour.'
