Join our team as a Registered Nurse for a Med-Surg Unit (MSU) in Fort Defiance, AZ, where you will care for adult geriatrics and pediatric patients. Our facility boasts EXCELLENT staffing ratios, with non-COVID patients typically at 4:1 and a maximum of 5:1, while COVID patients are typically at 2:1 with a maximum of 3:1.
Required Certifications: American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required.
Experience: Candidates must have three (3) years of med-surg experience, with at least one year of pediatric experience. You must be comfortable with both adult and pediatric patients.
Setting: You will be working in a 20-bed medical surgical unit catering to adults and pediatrics.
Shift: This position is for a 12-hour Day Shift, but flexibility to work other shifts, weekends, and holidays is necessary. In addition to inpatient duties, you may be assigned to help cover Flu Immunization clinics as needed. Travelers are also expected to attend staff meetings.
Orientation: Orientation occurs on Mondays only. If you miss the compliance deadline, you will be rescheduled for the next New Employee Orientation.
Other: Travelers may occasionally be expected to float to other departments in which they are qualified to work. This could involve taking a patient load if experienced and competent in that setting or performing task-oriented duties such as answering call lights and phones.
