  • Unit Name: A3 West Med Surg Tele
  • Number of Beds: 38
  • Patient Ratios: 6:1 (goal for charge nurse to assist), 7:1 during night stretch
  • Type of Equipment: Baxter IV pumps, Wound vacs, SCDS, prima-fits
  • EMR: Cerner Powerchart

Typical Hiring Profile:

  • Must Have: Medical/surgical nursing experience, Telemetry
  • Preferred: Charge nurse experience

Typical Procedures Performed:

  • Peripheral IV starts
  • Dressing changes
  • Other standard medical surgical skills

Best Personality Fit:

  • Team player
  • Positive attitude
  • Proactive in helping others

Required Certifications:

  • BLS

Floating Areas:

  • Other medical surgical units, ED holding medical/surgical patients

Dress Code:

  • Scrub Color/Attire: all navy, all white, or white top and navy pants, navy or white undershirts if needed

Weekends and On Call:

  • Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule
