We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for a contract position in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a leading acute-care hospital in Asheville, NC. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and provide exceptional care to patients in a fast-paced environment.
Unit Information:
- Number of Beds: 44 beds
- Number of Staff: 95
- Patient Ratios: 4/1 at grid, 5/1 stretched
- Type of Equipment: IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pump, Chest tube, Trachs, Patient lifts
- EMR: Cerner
Typical Hiring Profile:
- Must Have: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
- Preferred: Neuro and Trauma Care experience; candidates with these skills will be considered first.
Typical Procedures Performed on Unit:
- Neuro and spinal checks
- C-Collar placement, TLSO braces
- Chest tube, PCA pump, IV infusions
- Lumber drain
- Feeding tube placement
- Blood transfusion
Best Personality Fit: Team player, patient-focused.
Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
Floating Area(s): Stepdown units, Med-surg units.
Dress Code: Scrub Color/Attire - Navy blue.
Unit Guidelines/Policies: Every other weekend required.
