Unit Specifics:
- Number of Beds: Ortho has 30 beds, Med Surg has 37
- Patient Ratios: Usually 6:1
- Unit Staffing Description: We utilize PCTs and SNEs in our tech role, and we have a unit secretary during the day shift hours.
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Floating Policy: We float to inpatient units to take patients, float with tasks in CCU and ED
Hiring Profile Requested Skill Set:
- Must have: Positive attitude, willingness to work hard, ability to manage a patient load, and utilize teamwork strategies to provide patient-centered care.
- Advanced Skills Needed: Some MDs will perform bedside procedures, though this is not as common as in CCU/ED.
- Certifications Required: BLS
Dress Code:
- Scrub top and bottoms (no fleece, hoodies, sweatshirts, or sweaters). Long sleeve shirts under scrub tops or scrub jackets are permitted. No shoes with holes, denim, or camo.
