We are seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Durham, NC. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing essential care to patients in need of behavioral health support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to patients in the Psychiatric Emergency Department (Psych ED) and float to Medical ED as needed.
- Ensure adherence to required certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI (must be in hand or willing to obtain during compliance).
- Utilize EPIC for charting and documentation.
- Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4.
- Participate in weekend shifts, required every other weekend.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Psych ED and ED.
- Current NC or Compact nursing license in hand at the time of submission.
- Flu vaccines are mandatory; no exemptions or declinations accepted.
- Travelers must pass an EKG/Telemetry exam onsite.
Orientation sessions are bi-weekly, and scrub color is royal blue. Local candidates are welcome to apply, with a local rate adjustment of $5 less for those within 75 miles. This position does not require on-call duties or floating to other units.
