Join a leading acute-care hospital in Omaha, NE, as a Med Surg, Telemetry Registered Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity for RNs looking to make a difference in a fast-paced environment focused on trauma care. You will be part of a dedicated team providing care to patients with acute and chronic needs, ensuring they receive the best possible treatment.

This position offers a 36 or 48-hour work option with a 13 or 26-week contract choice. As a travel RN, you will be expected to float frequently to meet the staffing needs of the hospital. The unit is a 45-bed medical/surgical area that provides care for trauma patients who are hemodynamically and medically stable.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Providing care to trauma patients admitted from the emergency department, ICU, or surgical services.
  • Maintaining patient ratios of 1:5 days and 1:6 nights (with rare instances of 1:7).
  • Floating within the scope to meet facility needs, which may include various units such as 4CS, 5 West, 6 Neuro, and more.

Requirements for this role:

  • 2 years of prior experience in a large, urban hospital is required.
  • BLS certification is mandatory.
  • Experience with drips and EPIC charting is essential.
  • First-time travelers are not accepted unless they have 2 years of experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center.
  • Must be more than 100 miles from the facility; locals are not accepted.
  • Pending licenses are accepted, but the license must be in hand at the time of submission to avoid booking delays.

Additional Information:

  • This is a 100% nicotine-free facility.
  • Weekend shifts: 4 out of 8 possible in a 4-week period (Saturday and Sunday).
  • Holiday Requirement: Travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
  • Scrubs are mandatory; RNs will wear Steele gray scrubs with the facility logo.
  • Parking permits are available for approximately $55/month or daily parking at $3 for 20 hours.
