This is an exciting opportunity to work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Step Down setting, where you'll provide high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients. POSITION: Registered Nurse / PCU (Medical-Renal)
SCHEDULING DETAILS AND CHARTING:
- Shift hours: 3x12s, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
- Charting: Epic experience required
- Weekend Requirement: May be EOW or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
- RTO, Block & Special Scheduling Requests: ALL requests must be included with the submission.
- Call off Policy: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2-weeks.
- Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract.
- Accept First-Time Travelers: Yes
- Locals Accepted? Radius Rule: Yes, locals accepted. Refer to the Submittal Instructions for radius rule criteria.
- Pending License Accepted: Yes, only if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state. Otherwise, submission must include an active Virginia State or Compact RN/LPN license.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
- ACLS / BLS / NIHSS
REQUIRED CLINICAL SKILLS:
- Cardiac: Cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, management of cardiac drips (without titration)
- IV/Line: IV therapy and phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care and management
- Respiratory: Respiratory support via nasal cannula and oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management
- Rapid Response/Isolation: Use of rapid response and code teams, maintaining isolation precautions
- Additional: Experience in PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings
UNIT DETAILS AND FLOATING:
- Ratios: 1:5; Serves adults and geriatric patients
- One bed dedicated to chronic vent patients; Specializes in care of Hospitalist Medicine patients with renal and other medical diagnoses
- Functions as an alternative unit for gastrointestinal, pulmonary, and other surgical or procedural patients covered by hospitalists
- Will be required to float within skillset
