o 174 licensed beds
o No Trauma Designation
o Teaching Hospital? Only Community Schools of Nursing
o Chest Pain Center? No, but part of Lee Garvey Chest Pain Network
o TJC Stroke accredited
o Radius rule: Travelers permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit
Department Information:
o Average patients/day: 1 Varian Linac IX - 35 patients per day
o Minimum Years of Experience required? 3-4 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o All types of Cancer
o Inpatient and Outpatient population - Inpatients treated on a weekly basis
o Travelers will not routinely work in CT Sim (highly unlikely)
Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
o BLS
o ARRT-T
Skills required:
o Experience with the equipment specified below and various cancer diagnoses (seek manager approval otherwise)
o Must be proficient in the use of Varian Linac IX
o Must be comfortable with Inpatient population
Support within the Department:
o Leadership support
On Site Manager
o Normally, 3 RTs will work per shift
3 Therapists per machine
Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: EPIC/Aria
o Department specific Equipment: Varian Linac IX
Floating: If yes, where?
o May float to sister facilities - please decline if unwilling to float
Travel distance for furthest location would be around 1 hour
Orientation (facility and unit) :
o 1 week
Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: none
o No call
o Holiday Expectations: none
o RTO: Manager approval
o Shift times: variable 8h shifts (between the hours of 7a-6p)
