Join our team as an RN in the ICU at a leading acute-care hospital in Lexington, NC. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU nurse to provide high-quality care to critically ill patients. Our facility is known for its supportive environment and commitment to professional development.
Unit Information:
- Beds: 16
- Average daily census: 10
- Patient Ratios: RN: 2:1 for ICU patients, 3:1 for IMC patients
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
- ARDS, sepsis, COPD, DKA, stroke, etc. (MICU type patients)
Required Licensure & Certifications:
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required
Skills Required:
- Art line management
- Vasoactive medication titration
- Vent management and weaning (with RT support)
- Chest tube management
- Critical thinking
Support within the Department:
- CNA: Yes, assisting with ADLs and transport
- Charge nurse: Yes
- Phlebotomy: Yes
- Resource Nurse: Yes
- RT: 24/7
- Hospitalist: 24/7
- Intensivist: 24/7
- Telemetry monitoring/tech: Yes, back-up for CCU rhythms
Technology/Equipment:
- EMR: EPIC
- IV Pump: Alaris
- Med dispensing: Omnicell
- Monitors: GE
- Unit specific equipment: Bair Hugger, Verathon Bladder Scanner, Blanketrol machine
Floating:
- May float to Med Surg with a 4:1 ratio, ED as a resource (no assignment)
Orientation:
- NEO
- 2 days departmental
