Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Salinas, CA. This facility is a 172-bed, Level II Trauma, Teaching Hospital and the only Trauma Center in Monterey County, providing exceptional care to a diverse patient population.
The NICU is a Level III unit, primarily caring for babies who are growers and feeders at 24-25 weeks gestation. The average census is 10 patients, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 based on acuity. The unit features 15 rooms, 6 open bays, and an isolation room. A Charge RN is available to support the team without taking a patient assignment, ensuring optimal patient care. Additionally, a Medical Unit Clerk assists with running labs, cleaning equipment, scheduling appointments, and answering phones during the day.
