Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical-Surgical unit, where you will provide exceptional care to patients with a variety of medical conditions. This is a fantastic opportunity for RNs looking to make a difference in the lives of patients while working in a supportive environment.
Unit Details: The Medical-Surgical unit consists of 39 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1. You will care for patients with common diagnoses including cardiac, neurology, and post-operative medical/surgical cases.
Required Certifications: BLS certification is mandatory. RNs are required to titrate drips, with common titratable and/or set rate drips including Heparin.
Charge Nurse: There is a Charge Nurse on each shift, who may take on an assignment at times.
Support Staff: While there are no nurse aids or patient care techs on this unit, respiratory therapy manages all respiratory needs, and RNs are not required to handle ventilators.
Telemetry: TelePacks are used in the department, with rhythm interpretation completed by ICU staff.
Shifts & Scheduling: The position requires rotating day and night shifts, including every other weekend and holiday. Self-scheduling requests are accepted based on departmental needs, with flexibility for shift preferences when possible.
Dress Code: Scrubs are provided, and any color is acceptable.
