Join a leading acute-care hospital in Boston, MA, as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Stepdown unit. This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing care for patients with complex medical needs.
Shift: 12-hour shifts with a rotation of days and nights, every other weekend, and every other holiday.
Local vs Travel: Talent residing less than 50 miles from the facility will be at a local rate, which is $10 less than the posted bill rate. Please note that previous permanent staff are not eligible to be submitted as travelers.
Required Experience: A minimum of 1 year of IMCU experience is required, along with 2+ years of recent MedSurg and telemetry experience. Candidates should have experience in neuro care, myocardial infarctions (MIs), and tracheostomy care. You must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips, with a telemetry test on day 1.
Preferred Experience: Critical care experience is preferred.
The unit sees a mix of IMCU, neurology, and MedSurg patients, with a high volume of neuro, medicine, and cardiology cases, including care for chronic ventilators, tracheostomies, and high acuity heart failure. The unit has 27 beds with an average patient ratio of 1:3 for IMCU and 1:4 or 1:4-5 for MedSurg patients.
