Manager Interview

Unit Information:
o Beds: Surgical volumes fluctuate
o Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years experience (same for OR Tech)
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? No
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Vascular, neuro/neurohybrid, thoracic, robotics, transplant, general, orthopedic, hand, spine, podiatry, gyn, Carotis/Endar
Required License, National Certification, Certs:
o RN: BLS
o Tech: BLS, CST
Skills required:
o RN: circulating experience, Foley catheter, chest tube management, AED experience
o Scrub: proficient in the above cases
Support within the Department:
o Management
o 1 RN and 1 Tech in each case
Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: Cerner
o IV Pump: Plum ICU Medical
o Med dispensing: Omnicell
o Unit specific equipment: Bovie, tourniquet, harmonic, OR bed, stretcher
o Robotics - Davinci D5 (robotics experience preferred, not required)
Floating: If yes, where?
o Relieve others for lunch breaks (anywhere in OR)
Orientation (facility and unit) :
o NEO (full one week or orientation and the shift times are below)
o 3 days 0630-1900
o 4 days 0630-1700
o 3 days 1030-2300
Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: Based on unit needs
o On call? Yes
Call required, number of hours to be determined based on schedule
40-minute response time
o Holiday Expectations: Based on unit needs
o Approval of RTO: NM approval
o Schedule cycle: Made in 6-week increments
