Join a leading healthcare facility as a Travel Medical Laboratory Scientist in Millcreek, UT. This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing essential laboratory services in a fast-paced setting. As a Medical Lab Scientist, you will play a critical role in supporting patient care through accurate and timely laboratory testing.

Position Details:

  • Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays
  • Unit: ER Lab / Taylorsville (FSED)
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks (with the possibility of extending to 26 weeks)

General Information:

  • Number of Beds: 10 treatment rooms
  • Number of Staff: 8 Lab Technologists
  • Patient Ratios: N/A
  • Type of Equipment: Siemens Dimension EXL, Sysmex 1000, Roche Clineteck, Werfen Top 300, Quidel Triage, Siemens ePOC, Abbott iSTAT, Veritor FLU, Quidel SOFIA COVID-19, Aerospray stainer
  • EMR: EPIC
  • On Call Requirements: No on-call requirements, but opportunities for additional hours are available during the 7 off week if desired.
  • Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Daily maintenance, QC, calibrations on analyzers and patient testing, including waived and non-waived tests.
  • Specimen processing, including ordering tests, centrifuging specimens, preparing send-outs for transport, stocking lab supplies, and routine cleaning of lab surfaces.

Required Certifications:

  • MLS or MLT certification through ASCP (MLS, CLS, MT Medical Technologist)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with EPIC
  • Some experience with analyzers listed above

Best Personality Fit:

  • A professional who can communicate effectively with both lab and non-lab individuals, as you will often work independently but need to interface with clinical staff in the ED.

Dress Code: Scrubs in pewter color (lab coat will be provided).
