Required Skills / Certifications / Experience:
- BLS & ACLS required
- NIHSS preferred
- 2 years of cardiac experience required
- MS/Tele/Step down experience preferred
- First-time travelers accepted (with 2 years of cardiac experience)
Job Details:
- Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15)
- Will accept 36 or 48-hour contracts
- Float required as needed
- Weekend coverage required - 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks
- Call not required
- Patient ratio: 1:6
- Must be willing to work holidays
- Contract staff will be assigned to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events
- Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur
Patient Diagnoses: Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, Aortic stenosis/regurgitation, Mitral Regurgitation/Stenosis, Endocarditis, Cardiomyopathy, PVD, PAD, Vasculitis, Carotid stenosis, Venous stasis, sheath management, sheath removal.
Special Procedures / Unit Details: CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman procedure), VATS, Carotid endarterectomy, FEM-POP bypass, Amputations, Other vascular surgeries, Cardiac surgeries, Thoracic surgeries, General thoracic surgery, Post cath, Post DCCV, Post electrophysiology procedures, Pacemaker placements.
Special Equipment: Arterial lines (not required), Doppler, Bladder scanner, EKG, Femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, Chest tubes, Epicardial Pacing Wires.
Unit Systems (Medication, Documentation, Communication): Pyxis, EPIC, & SBAR
Unit Orientation: 24 hours
Scrubs: Navy blue pants & white top
