We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Travel RN for the Observation Unit at a leading acute-care hospital in Marquette, MI. This role is ideal for an experienced RN looking to make a difference in patient care while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Michigan's upper peninsula.
Position Information:
- Facility Type: 225 bed specialty care hospital
- Unit: Observation Unit
- Trauma Level: 2
- Patient Population: Adult only (>18 years old)
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:5, no defined ratios
- Equipment: Cardiac monitor
- EHR: Cerner
Responsibilities:
- Provide care for patients meeting observation status criteria, including those with chest pain, asthma exacerbations, TIAs, abdominal pain, urinary issues, blood sugar issues, DVT/PE, cellulitis, post-procedural monitoring, and minor trauma.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Monitor and document patient progress using the electronic health record.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid RN license with required certifications (BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale Competency, Tele/ECG Competency).
- 1 year of Med/Surg experience is required; telemetry experience is preferred.
- Ability to float to Medical/Cardiac/Neuro-Ortho Units as needed.
Additional Notes:
- Must work weekends and holidays as required.
- Dress Code: Scrub color is galaxy blue.
- All absences must be made up to maintain contracted hours.
