Join a dynamic team as a Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse in Winston-Salem, NC! We are seeking experienced RNs with a passion for patient care and a commitment to excellence. Job Details:
- Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years with 1 year of direct Med Surg experience.
- Traveler Experience: Unit will not accept first-time travelers (must have at least 2 successful contracts before applying).
- Locals Accepted: Yes, with rate difference.
- Required Skills: IV Start and Telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, Med/Surg neuro experience.
- Certifications: BCLS, NIH, NIHSS; ACLS preferred but not required.
- Patient Ratios: 1:6.
- Floating Requirement: Required to float to any other MS/Tele areas, may include COVID care units.
- Patient Diagnoses: Primarily stroke patients, including possible neurosurgery patients and other neuro diagnoses such as epilepsy and subdural hematomas.
- Special Procedures: 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU); training provided for nurses, typically does not affect travelers.
- Unit Systems: PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR.
- Unit Orientation: 36 hours.
- Scrubs: Navy.
Travelers are required to work every other weekend, and if RTO includes weekends, time will be added to the end of the contract to make up for those dates. If a traveler calls in for a scheduled weekend shift, they will need to make up those shifts based on the needs of the unit. Frequent floating may be required.
