Join a leading healthcare provider as a Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) in Rochester, NY. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on patient care and advanced clinical practices. RNs in this role will be required to demonstrate competency in phlebotomy and IV placement, essential skills for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage patient care for those with cardiac, pulmonary, pain, GI, infection, and unmanaged diabetes diagnoses.
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, and utilize Rapid Response Teams effectively.
- Perform peripheral line care and management, as well as non-invasive airway management.
- Utilize special equipment such as bladder scanners, telemetry, EKG machines, and lifepacks.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required; first-timers accepted.
- BLS certification is mandatory.
- Must be willing to float between like units as needed.
- Weekend availability required: Every other weekend.
- RTO restrictions: No more than 1 week of time off allowed during the contract.
- Locals not accepted (75 miles radius rule).
- Pending licenses are not accepted.
This position offers a night shift schedule of 3x12 hours, ensuring a balanced work-life routine while providing quality care to patients. The facility supports a collaborative environment with Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) available on all units to assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living.
