Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Step Down Registered Nurse in Charleston, WV. This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, providing care in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Step Down settings.
As a Step Down RN, you will be responsible for managing a variety of medical patients, including those with respiratory issues, DKA, arrhythmias, post-operative kidney transplant patients, and interventional neurological patients. You will be capable of caring for telemetry patients with both medical and surgical needs, as well as the renal population.
Unit Description: 8 IMC Beds / 10 Observation Beds (staffed separately). Orientation is held every other week on Thursday. The nurse-to-patient ratios are 3:1 for IMCU and 4:1 for Med/Surg.
Experience Required: - 2 Years of RN Experience Required - 1 Year in-specialty Experience required - First-timers accepted - Every other weekend required
Certifications Required: - BLS - ACLS (must be AHA)
No call requirement. RNs may be floated within their scope to meet facility needs when required. We are open to accommodating block schedule requests; please discuss during the interview. A West Virginia/Compact RN License is required; candidates can submit with a pending RN license but must have an active WV/Compact license to start.
