In-House Attorney (Real Estate Development) — Miami, FL

Compensation: Up to $140,000 

About the Company

Our client is a leading real estate development company in the Miami area, known for innovative designsustainable development, and community-focused projects. They’re growing and seeking an In-House Attorney to support a robust pipeline of development activity.

Role Overview

The In-House Attorney will manage and support the legal needs of the company’s real estate development operations—covering transactions, compliance, negotiations, risk management, and strategic legal guidance to leadership. This is a high-impact, hands-on position in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel across real estate development matters including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, construction, and property management
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and transaction documents (PSAs, leases, loan docs, construction-related agreements, vendor agreements, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements including zoning/land use, environmental considerations, and building/code-related issues
  • Lead/support due diligence (title review, environmental assessments, risk review, and related investigations)
  • Partner with and manage outside counsel, consultants, and regulatory agencies as needed
  • Advise senior leadership on legal risk and practical mitigation strategies
  • Manage disputes, claims, and litigation matters that arise during business operations
  • Stay current on real estate legal developments and implement best practices across the organization

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active Florida Bar membership in good standing
  • 2+ years of experience in real estate law (development experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of real estate transactionsland use/zoningenvironmental regulations, and construction law
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong judgment and attention to detail
  • High ethical standards and professionalism

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in-house for a developer or in a real estate-focused law firm
  • Familiarity with Miami / Florida-specific real estate and regulatory landscape
  • Collaborative, team-oriented working style
