Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Travel RN in the Med Surg department. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing compassionate care to patients in a Trauma Med/Surg unit. With a focus on patient experience and teamwork, you will be part of a dedicated staff committed to excellence in healthcare.

Unit Specifics:

  • Number of Beds: 34
  • Patient Ratios: 6:1
  • Unit Staffing Description: Tech support on day shift and night shift; Unit secretary available from 7 AM to 7 PM.
  • Type of Equipment: IV Pumps, Telemetry, SCDs, Continuous Pulse Ox Machines, Feeding Pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, iMobile communication technology.
  • Documentation System: Meditech.
  • Scheduling Requirements: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule.
  • Floating Policy: Contract labor is first to float; rotation applies when multiple contract labor staff are scheduled.

Patient Experience Requirements: Expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members. Bedside shift report is essential, along with the ability to make personal connections with patients and involve them and their family members in their care plans.

Hospital Specifics:

  • Certifications: Comprehensive Stroke, ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center.

Hiring Profile Requested Skill Set:

  • Med/Surg Experience
  • Ability to prioritize care and multitask
  • Start IVs, basic wound care, maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes.

Must Have:

  • Active RN license
  • BLS certification

Dress Code: Navy scrubs, tops, and bottoms are required.
