Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Altoona, PA. In this role, you will provide essential patient care and support services, ensuring the highest quality of care is delivered at all times. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining a safe and conducive environment for patient recovery.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care as directed by the RN and LPN, including all activities of daily living such as bathing, feeding, dressing, transporting, toileting, and ambulating residents.
- Maintain an environment conducive to patient safety and recovery, including safety checks, cleanliness, and organization of patient rooms and equipment.
- Respond to patient needs and calls in a timely manner.
- Acquire and distribute supplies and equipment to facilitate care delivery.
- Deliver patient nourishments and assist with feeding as needed; fill water pitchers.
- Perform routine tests such as weights, vital signs, and Intake & Outputs.
- Provide feedback to the RN/LPN regarding patient care and report changes in resident status promptly.
- Document in the medical record according to established procedures.
- Comply with safety policies and procedures, including standard precautions and blood borne pathogen exposure protocols.
- Strictly adhere to all policies and practices relative to patient care and facility-related information.
- Respond within the scope of the nursing assistant role to emergent situations.
- Perform other duties as assigned and in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
Education and Knowledge Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of body mechanics and transfer techniques.
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
- 2 years of experience is required.
