We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for a High Intensity Care Unit (HICU) position at a leading acute-care hospital in Baltimore, MD. This role is perfect for RNs who are passionate about providing exceptional care to medically complex patients requiring respiratory support, cardiac monitoring, and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the HICU, including those with acute brain injuries and complex medical conditions.
  • Monitor patients for cardiac conditions and other serious medical needs, ensuring timely interventions.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care and rehabilitation services.
  • Administer respiratory care and diagnostic services as needed.
  • Support patients transitioning from acute-care settings requiring extended stays.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of RN experience is required.
  • Experience caring for medically complex patients requiring respiratory support and cardiac monitoring is expected.
  • ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
  • Maryland or compact RN license required upon submission.
  • Must be comfortable caring for patients with chronic diseases and complex medical conditions.
  • Strong cardiac monitoring and assessment skills are essential.
  • Flexibility to float between like units as needed.

Additional Information:

  • Every other weekend is required.
  • Travelers may select a 36-hour or 48-hour per week contract.
  • RTO requests should be submitted with the application; the system will auto approve 14 days or less.
  • No RTO on hard-to-fill days such as Easter, Mother's Day, and Father's Day.
  • Local candidates are accepted.
