We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Liaison to join our team in Boston, MA. This contract position offers an opportunity to work Monday through Friday, 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with no weekends required. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician, with prior experience as an OR Liaison preferred.
The Operating Room Liaison serves as the critical link between the Central Processing Department (CPD) and the Operating Room (OR) regarding supplies, equipment, and setup. This role assesses the needs of surgeons and the OR staff, acting as a mediator between the OR and CPD. Responsibilities include identifying resources needed to implement new programs and procedures related to surgical instrument preparation, assembly, and maintenance.
The liaison ensures that the flow of instruments to the OR is managed for timeliness, guaranteeing that only complete trays are sent to the OR coordinators. Additionally, this position provides oversight of daily activities between the OR and CPD to facilitate efficient case flow and promote excellent communication. Collaboration with OR and CPD is essential to ensure process improvement initiatives comply with industry standards and organizational policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities also include organizing, directing, and implementing daily activities regarding surgical instrumentation ordering, presentation, maintenance, and preparation. The OR Liaison will assist in developing, communicating, implementing, and troubleshooting instrument issues. There may be a requirement to float to other OR campuses as needed.
Certifications required for this role include HSPA CRCST or CBSPD and BLS. Local candidates residing less than 50 miles from the facility will be eligible for a local rate, which is $5 less than the posted bill rate.
