Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (ER) in Plattsburgh, NY. As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to patients in a busy community setting. The unit features a 29-bed Emergency Department with additional beds for behavioral health and fast track patients. You will work alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, including advanced practice providers and crisis clinicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in the ER.
  • Manage patient assignments, including boarded patients and psychiatric cases.
  • Perform essential nursing procedures, including starting IVs and administering respiratory treatments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation using the EPIC system.

Requirements:

  • Active New York State RN license or proof of application.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, with at least 1 year in the Emergency Department specialty.
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC must be active or proof of class required prior to start).
  • Epic experience within the past 2 years is required.
  • Prior travel experience and charge experience are preferred.

Additional Information:

  • Shift hours: 3:00 PM - 3:30 AM, with rotating schedules.
  • Orientation: 20 hours for short contracts.
  • Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs; closed-toe shoes; no artificial nails.
  • Public transportation is not accessible; reliable transportation is necessary.
