Join a leading acute-care hospital in Albemarle, NC, located just an hour from Charlotte, NC. This facility features 109 licensed beds and is recognized as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center. We are currently seeking an experienced RN for the Emergency Department (ED) to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Information:

  • Beds: 16
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years ED RN experience (Resource Team requirement)
  • Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Pediatric and Adult, including COPD, CHF, Chest Pain, MI, N-STEMI, Stroke, TIA, new onset cardiac arrhythmia, uncontrolled DM, minor trauma
  • Patient Ratios: RN: 1:4-5, based on acuity; CNA: 1:10

Required Licensure & Certifications:

  • RN: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI (CPI can be obtained within 30 days of starting); TNCC (preferred)

Skills Required:

  • General ED skillset - Cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with critical care drips, vent management, chest tubes, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, conscious sedation, ESI Assessments, etc.

Support within the Department:

  • CNA
  • Charge nurse: may or may not have patient assignment
  • IV/VAT Team: Ancillary department, but not in-house every day
  • RT, 24/7
  • Hospitalist, 24/7
  • ED Physician Team
  • Bedside and Central Tele Monitoring

Technology/Equipment:

  • EMR: Epic
  • IV Pump: Alaris
  • Med dispensing: Omnicell
  • Monitors: Phillips
  • Unit specific equipment: General med-surg equipment and tele monitors

Floating:

Travelers will be required to float per regional needs, including all facilities listed below, as needed, within the scope of practice. Decline if not agreeable:

  • Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, any Freestanding ED within Region, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH)

If floating mid-shift, the traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock).

Orientation:

  • NEO
  • 2 days departmental

Scheduling:

  • Weekend rotation: every other
  • No call
  • Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
  • RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays - must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
