Join a leading acute-care hospital as a MedSurg/Telemetry RN in Concord, NC! This is an exciting opportunity for experienced registered nurses to provide high-quality care in a dynamic environment. Our facility is recognized for its commitment to excellence, including being a Trauma Level III center and a Stroke Center of Excellence.

Department Information:

  • Beds: 10, with an average daily census of 8 patients
  • Minimum Years of Experience Required: 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience
  • Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Chest Pain, Syncope, Angina

Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team requirement)

Ratios:

  • RN: 1:5
  • CNA: 1:10

Skills Required:

  • General Med/Tele skillset including stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, and drain/tube management (e.g., Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, foley insertion/management)
  • Medication gtt management including cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVF

Support within the Department:

  • Supervisor
  • Charge RN - may or may not have patients
  • Resource RN - will assist with Admissions/Discharges
  • RT and Hospitalist available 24/7
  • Phlebotomy: Combined effort between RNs and IV team

Technology/Equipment:

  • EMR: EPIC
  • IV Pumps: Alaris
  • Med Dispensing: Omnicell

Floating:

Travel nurses will be the first to float to other nursing units and provide flexible staffing support based on patient care needs and staffing demands. They will demonstrate adaptability and clinical flexibility when floating to other units, taking patients within their scope of practice on any unit (e.g., MedSurg assignment in ICU, MedSurg holds in ED, etc.). Floating may be required to all facilities within the region as needed.

Orientation:

  • NEO
  • 2 days departmental

Scheduling:

  • Weekend rotation: every other
  • Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
  • RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays (must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours)
  • Shift times: 0650-1910; 1850-0710
  • Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
