Join a leading acute-care hospital as an RN - Nurse Navigator specializing in Gastroenterology in Winston-Salem, NC. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment focused on pediatric patients.
Unit Information:
- 24 exam rooms with a monthly census of approximately 3,000 patients for RN Navigators.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinic experience required; preference for candidates with Pediatric, GI, and/or Pulmonary experience.
- This position is not open to first-time travelers.
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
- In-basket management and phone triage for established patients, covering GI and Pulmonary subspecialties.
- GI conditions include constipation, reflux, hyperemesis, EOE, IBD, Crohn’s, celiac, and blood in stool.
- Pulmonary conditions include asthma, bronchiolitis, vents/trachs, and cystic fibrosis.
Required License and Certifications:
- BLS certification required.
Skills Required:
- Phone triage for listed diagnoses, in-basket management, medication refills, and paperwork requests from providers.
Support within the Department:
- Manager/Supervisor and Medical Assistants to assist in patient management.
- Collaboration with 3 other RN Navigators in the same office.
Technology/Equipment:
- Familiarity with Ambulatory EPIC EMR preferred.
- Unit-specific equipment includes vital sign and EKG machines, laptops, and Microsoft Teams.
Orientation:
- Comprehensive orientation with a focus on collaboration with other RN Navigators throughout the contract.
