Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Travel RN in the ICU department in Portsmouth, NH. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on high-quality patient care. The ICU unit is equipped with advanced technology and staffed with experienced professionals committed to providing exceptional service.

Unit Specifics:

  • Number of Beds: 25
  • Patient Ratios: 2:1
  • Unit staffing description: No LNAs or PCTs. Around-the-clock mid-levels, trauma surgeons, and respiratory therapists. PT/OT available during the day shift.
  • Type of Equipment: GE Monitors, Hamilton Bipaps and Hiflows, Puritan ventilator, Hemospheres.
  • Documentation System: Meditech Expanse
  • Scheduling Requirements: 12 shifts per month (3 shifts a week), including 4 weekend shifts per month. Department leadership completes the schedule around the RTO.
  • Floating Policy: Floating will be on a rotation basis with travelers floating first.
  • Patient Experience Requirements: MyCare board is updated each shift during bedside shift report. Bedside shift report is completed at each change of shift.

Hospital Specifics:

  • Certifications: Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level 2 Trauma Center, Three Star STS Open Heart Program

Hiring Profile Requested Skill Set:

  • Must Have: Strong telemetry skills, experience titrating vasoactive and inotrope medications, chest tube experience, past ICU experience.
  • Preferred: Candidates with open heart experience, temporary pacing, and Swan-Ganz catheter experience will be considered first.

Procedures Performed on Unit:

  • Intubation
  • Central line and arterial line placement
  • Chest tube placement

Certifications Required:

  • ACLS
  • BLS

Dress Code: Scrubs (color does not matter)
