Join our team as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse in Seattle, WA, at a leading acute-care hospital. We are seeking dedicated professionals with a passion for providing exceptional care in a high-risk, high-volume environment. This is a contract position with a day shift schedule, working 4x12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30.

As a Labor and Delivery RN, you will play a critical role in the care of patients during labor and delivery, ensuring the safety and well-being of both mothers and newborns. You will be responsible for circulating and providing newborn care, including administering Vitamin K injections and performing assessments. Experience in high acuity and fast-paced settings is essential, with a preference for candidates who have 5 years of high-risk experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Function as a Baby Nurse during delivery and provide continuous care to the newborn until transfer to postpartum.
  • Circulate during deliveries and provide necessary newborn care.
  • Work collaboratively with midwifery clients, private OBs, and Adult Recovery Services.
  • Float to sister facilities as needed, including postpartum and antepartum units.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, with a strong preference for candidates with 5 years of high-risk experience.
  • Current supervisory references and proof of required certifications (BLS, NRP required; ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate preferred).
  • Ability to pass clinical review and provide proof of current Nursys.
  • Must be willing to work every other weekend and holidays as needed.
  • Experience with EPIC HARDSTOP and electronic fetal monitoring is valued.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on patient-centered care. The average daily census is 15 patients, with approximately 500-600 deliveries per month across 31 beds.
