Join a leading acute-care hospital in Seattle, WA, as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN). This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced RNs to work in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit. We are looking for dedicated professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are committed to providing exceptional care to mothers and newborns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and provide continuous care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum.
  • Administer newborn care, including eye and thigh assessments, and provide necessary injections such as Vitamin K.
  • Float to postpartum and antepartum units as needed, and may also float to sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care.
  • Support midwifery clients and private OBs, as well as Adult Recovery Services and community care clinics.
  • Adhere to AWHONN guidelines for staffing and patient care.

Patient Diagnoses: High-risk pregnancies, midwifery clients, substance recovery support.

Unit Details:

  • High Risk/High Volume Labor & Delivery unit with 4 operating rooms.
  • Average Daily Census: 15 patients; 500-600 deliveries per month.
  • 31 beds available in the unit.
  • Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs.

Certifications Required: BLS, NRP.
Preferred Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate.

To qualify, candidates must have at least 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery, with high-risk experience preferred. First-time travelers are welcome, provided they have been separated from any previous facility for at least 3 months. Please note that floating is required, and active compact licenses are honored.
