Join a leading acute-care hospital as a PCU Registered Nurse in Leonardtown, MD, and make a difference in patient care within the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Step Down. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, providing essential care to patients in need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to patients in the PCU/Step Down unit, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Float between IMC and medical units as needed, occasionally taking medicine/IMC level boarders in the ED and ICU.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and administer medications as prescribed.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on health management and post-discharge care.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IMC/PCU/MS Float Pool.
- Must have completed at least 1 travel assignment.
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
- Candidate must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms.
- Skills required: PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Telemetry, ER Holding, Cardiac Telemetry, MS/Tele.
This facility requires that all employees have the Flu vaccine. Please note that scrubs are not provided; color: Caribbean Blue. Clinicians report to the staffing office for float assignments.
Ratios: IMC 1:4 ratio / MS/Tele 1:5-6. IMC: 15 bed unit, MedSurg: 44 bed unit, Telemetry: 34 bed unit.
