Department Information:

Respiratory Therapists will be assigned to an appropriate patient care workload, whether it be in ICU areas or Medical/Surgical floors based on the needs of the department.

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

Varies based on workload - post-surgical, pneumonia, COPD, Asthma, and ED patients.

Required License and Certifications:

  • NC license
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications

Skills Required:

Minimum of 2 years of Respiratory Therapy critical care experience is required. Previous experience in a Level 1 trauma center and/or high acuity organizations is preferred. Critical care experience is essential.

Support within the Department:

Lead Therapists on each shift, both Adult and Pediatric, foster a teamwork mindset among the entire team.

Technology/Equipment:

  • EMR: EPIC
  • Department specific Equipment: Preferred experience with Servo U, Servo Air, The Vest, Volara, Aerogen, Heated High Flow, and cough assist. If working in pediatrics, preferred to also have HFJV and HFOV experience.

Scheduling:

  • Weekend rotation: Every other
  • No on-call required
  • Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
  • Shift times: 18:30 - 07:00
  • Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
