Join our team as a Respiratory Therapist specializing in Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) and Pediatrics at a leading acute-care hospital in Charlotte, NC. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide critical respiratory care to pediatric patients in a dedicated children's hospital environment.

Department Information:

  • Minimum Years of Experience required: 2 years Respiratory Therapy (Resource Team)
  • First-time travelers are welcome!

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide respiratory care for all pediatric patients throughout the facility, focusing on neonates and pediatric age ranges.

Required License and Certifications:

  • BLS, PALS, ACLS, NRP
  • RRT or CRT
  • NC Licensure

Skills Required:

  • 2 years of combined pediatric unit experience in the past 5 years (must have had peds-only assignments, not mixed age populations)
  • IPPV/NIPPV ventilator experience
  • Experience in ED, PICU, Peds CVICU, Peds PCU, and General Medical Floors

Support within the Department:

Work under the guidance of Respiratory Leadership with access to advanced technology and equipment.

Technology/Equipment:

  • EMR: EPIC (candidates will need to test out of EPIC for faster onboarding)
  • Department-specific Equipment: ventilators (IPPV/NIPPV)

Orientation:

  • 3 days of onboarding total for ED and general floor
  • 1 day in each unit if the traveler has experience with multiple intensive care units
  • Includes 2 days of computer training, equipment familiarization, and facility orientation

Scheduling:

  • Weekend rotation: every other
  • No call required
  • Travelers will work 75% of holidays
  • RTO: Up to 6 days off can be approved, excluding holidays (must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours)
  • Shift times: 0645-1915/1845-0715
  • Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
