Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Respiratory Therapist specializing in Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) and Pediatrics. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment dedicated to providing exceptional care for pediatric patients.

About the Facility:

  • 247 Licensed Beds
  • Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center
  • Level IV NICU
  • Teaching Hospital
  • Chest Pain Center
  • Certified Stroke Center
  • Radius rule: Travelers' permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit

Department Information:

  • Minimum Years of Experience required: 2 years Respiratory Therapy (Resource Team)
  • Will accept first-time travelers: Yes

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

  • Provide Respiratory care for all pediatric patients throughout the facility (children's hospital only)
  • Neonate - Pediatric age ranges

Required License, National Certification, and Certifications:

  • BLS, PALS, ACLS, NRP
  • RRT or CRT
  • NC Licensure

Skills Required:

  • 2 years of combined pediatric unit experience in the past 5 years (must have had pediatric-only assignments, not mixed age populations)
  • IPPV/NIPPV ventilator experience
  • Experience in ED, PICU, Peds CVICU, Peds PCU, Gen Med Floors

Support within the Department:

  • Respiratory Leadership

Technology/Equipment:

  • EMR: EPIC (will need to test out of EPIC for faster onboarding)
  • Department specific Equipment: ventilators (IPPV/NIPPV)
  • Specific equipment to be discussed during the interview with the manager

Floating:

  • RTs will not be floated to another facility due to the specialty and needs in that facility.

Orientation (facility and unit):

  • 3 days of onboarding total for ED and general floor
  • If the traveler has experience with multiple intensive care units, they will have one day in each unit they will be working
  • All of this will include 2 days of computer, equipment, and walking the facility to get the lay of the land

Scheduling:

  • Weekend rotation: every other
  • No call
  • Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
  • RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays - must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
  • Shift times: 0645-1915/1845-0715
  • Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
