Join a leading healthcare facility as a Respiratory Therapist specializing in Cardiopulmonology in Louisville, KY. This contract position offers an opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and utilize advanced respiratory care techniques. We welcome both experienced therapists and first-time travelers with a background in adult critical care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide respiratory care for patients with conditions such as COPD, Cystic Fibrosis, Asthma, Heart Failure, and LVAD.
- Manage ventilator settings and perform procedures including tracheostomy care, suctioning, and aerosol treatments.
- Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Cap patient load at 6 vents in the ICU setting.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in adult critical care.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and RRT certifications; CRT will be considered with relevant experience.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to pediatric care as needed.
- Flexibility to float to Frazier Rehab as required.
Technology and Equipment:
- Familiarity with EMR systems (Cerner) and medical dispensing (Omnicell).
- Experience with respiratory equipment such as V60 BiPAP, PB 980, Hamilton MR-1, and others.
Scheduling:
- 12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Weekend rotation of 4 shifts per month, with no on-call requirements.
- Holiday work as needed, with request time off approved through management.
