Join a leading healthcare facility in Louisville, KY as a Respiratory Therapist specializing in Rehabilitation. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing critical care to patients with respiratory issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide respiratory care to patients with conditions such as COPD, asthma, respiratory failure, burns, strokes, and traumas.
- Float throughout the hospital as needed, ensuring comprehensive patient care.
- Assist with intubation, bedside bronchoscopy, and tracheostomy procedures.
- Administer oxygen therapy and aerosol treatments, including high flow oxygen therapy.
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and manage inhaled epoprostenol therapy.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in adult critical care.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NRP preferred.
- State licensure and RRT preferred (CRT may be considered with manager approval).
- Diploma from an accredited respiratory therapy program.
Skills:
- Experience with adult critical care and related technologies.
- Familiarity with EMR systems, specifically Cerner, and various respiratory equipment.
Support within the Department:
- RT Manager
- Day/Night Supervisor
- Respiratory Care Coordinator
- PFT/Educator
Scheduling:
- 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.
- Weekend rotation every other week.
- Willingness to work some holidays is required.
- Schedule posted 4 weeks in advance.
