Join a leading acute-care hospital as an RN in the Stepdown unit, where you will provide critical care to patients with complex medical needs. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated nurse looking to make a difference in a dynamic environment.
**Position Overview:**
As an RN in the Stepdown unit, you will work 12-hour shifts, with a schedule that includes every other weekend and holiday. This position requires a minimum of 1 year of IMCU experience, along with 2+ years of recent med-surg and telemetry experience. You will be responsible for caring for a diverse patient population, including those with neurological conditions, myocardial infarctions, tracheostomies, and other complex medical needs.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips.
- Administer medications using automated dispensing systems.
- Provide care for patients with chronic ventilator needs, tracheostomies, and high acuity heart failure.
- Work within a unit that sees a mix of IMCU, neurology, and med-surg patients.
**Preferred Experience:**
- Critical care experience is highly valued.
**Unit Details:**
The Stepdown unit consists of 27 beds, with an average patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3 for IMCU patients and 1:4 to 1:5 for med-surg patients. You will encounter a high volume of neuro, medicine, and cardiology patients.
